Communication Coursework
My communication major encourages us hit certain student learning objectives throughout our degree. Below I have included these objectives with certain assignments that correlate with them.

SLO#2: Critically evaluate sources of information to determine their trustworthiness, import, and utility to their specific communication task.
In Research Communications, we studied the different types of research and how to implement them into communication planning. For this assignment, I planned a research proposal based around whether Disney would lose season passholders due to Universal's Epic Universe.

SLO#5: Demonstrate professionalism by applying field-appropriate ethical standards to work product and taking responsibility for actions/outcomes.
In my Strategic Ad Campaigns Capstone class, we worked to develop a strategic ad campaign for our client, Pepper the App. We worked in teams all semester to research information, create ideas, and develop promotional materials. At the end of the class, we presented our findings to our client.

SLO 1: Recognize key features of the communication process model within specific settings (e.g. interpersonal, group, public, professional, mediated, or global settings).
In communication dynamics, we learned the fundamentals of communication and interacting with others. The final class project was to analyze dating and relationships in the Hunger Games. Our group worked to put together a detailed outline and PowerPoint.

SLO#3: Deliver professional, well-organized presentations (e.g. informative and persuasive) that are tailored to topic, audience, and occasion.
I was a member of the UWF speech and debate team. I wrote this speech about mental health facilities trapping people for insurance money. After researching and writing it, I presented it at several competitions.
4
SLO#4: Present written and visual messages clearly and effectively for different audiences.
In my Business Communications class, we developed an idea prototype in class and delivered a pitch presentation in class. Our idea passed through the preliminary round, and we got to present our concept to a group of businesspeople in Pensacola through a shark tank-style presentation.
